This course is about personal development, we may be experts at our job and have the relevant technical expertise along with paper qualifications, but can we manage people and resources? We are all trained to do our job and many are promoted up to managerial posts without having any formal training in Management skills.
Managers often find it increasingly difficult to relate to the work force and because of isolation find their people skills lacking, especially when giving bad news or disciplinary action to an employee. The course aims are designed to improve manager's people skills, achieving a better understanding of your work force, the key skills required to manage people and resources, effective communication to bring about change, empowerment and more efficient ways of working as a cohesive team.

As an accredited centre we design Team Building & Management Programmes to your requirements.
(The Margerison-McCann) Team Management Systems (TMI), Types of Work index (TWI), and the Linking Skills Index (LSI) is a suite of profiling tools designed to assist you when you require individual or Team Profiles.
The TMI measures preferred working styles and produces a 4000-word profile describing people's strengths and identifies personal development opportunities. As well as understanding the requirements of their job, people also need to understand how they prefer to work.
The TWI is based on a model that describes team working in terms of eight related areas of work, Advising, Innovating, Promoting, Developing, Organising, Producing, Inspecting and Maintaining. The eight work functions are integrated, using the important concept of Linking. A questionnaire provides personal feedback to team members on how, in TMI terms they do their job, and how through coordination these jobs are closely linked to promote and improve Teamwork.
Using TWI and TMI profiles together helps to identify and graphically display business requirements and the various role holders actual performances. It also reveals where improvements need to be made for individuals or teams to enable quick and relevant intervention.

Background
To help in our understanding of teams, The TMS suite of tools seeks to combine elements of psychological approach as described by the MBTI (myers Briggs Type Indicator) with the socialogical approach of Belbin. Devised by Prof Charles Margeison McCann the TMS suite is well tested and validated against normative data gathered.
We can provide Individual /Team Profiles of how your team prefer to work, for your team prior to the course if requested. Time needs to be allocated for completion, scoring and report form's return.

Eriviat Country Welsh Hall
We are in partnership with Eriviat Hall and we have use of the premises for our business clients. The hall can accomodate up to 30 people self catering but there is an option of hiring a chef to cook for you. Eriviat Hall has ensuit bedrooms looking over the grounds. Transport can be provided to and from the hall for your daily activities, and its only 5 minutes away from our activity centre.
